“We were quite isolated where we were in Hammond Park,” explains Linda Davis.

“We built a house and lots of young people had built around us and it just wasn’t working.”

After 18 months of checking out Piara Waters Lifestyle Resort, Linda and husband Charlie, fell in love with a two-bedroom Dream Catcher home.

“It’s a totally different way of living. We just wanted a better lifestyle and that’s exactly what we’ve ended up with here,” explains Linda.

Since settling in, Charlie’s stepped up to organise the Resort’s lawn bowls activities.

“We both love lawn bowls, and we’ve got three rinks here, which is absolutely beautiful,” he says.

“We organise Wednesday and Friday night bowling, as well as some competitions.”

“We’ve had one competitive event so far, which was played here, and we’ve organised a return challenge at Bibra Lake next.”

As for Linda, she’s arranged a Beatles Tribute Night in the Resort’s Clubhouse – and was the first Homeowner to plunge into the Resort’s new pool.

“We didn’t have a big enough house before to have a pool and I wanted one for a long time, so I was the first in the pool, spa and sauna at 7.30am!” she recalls.

Linda also credits the community for easing her transition into retirement.

“I’m a social butterfly. I loved my job caring for and spending time with people,” she shares.

“I don’t miss work now because I just walk out the front door and I have someone to talk to.

“And I’ve bought a bike to use in the community, so I’m riding around at 71!”

Says Charlie: “It’s absolutely fantastic; the whole Resort is just amazing. You drive in through the gates and it’s just a pleasure to be here.”

Linda agrees: “I pinch myself sometimes because I can’t believe I live here!”
