With six over-50s resorts underway in WA and several more in the pipeline, Providence Lifestyle Group has taken out the Seniors Living category at the 2026 UDIA National Awards for Excellence with its flagship next-generation development in Piara Waters.

The 244-home Piara Waters Lifestyle Resort was last night named the ‘best of the best’ Seniors Living development in the country at the UDIA gala event held in Adelaide.

It follows the over-50s community taking home the Russel Perry Award for Urban Development Excellence, the highest honour, and the Seniors Living Award at the UDIA WA Awards for Excellence in 2025.

Providence Lifestyle Group Managing Director John Wood, a land lease sector specialist for nearly three decades, said this latest recognition underscored the vital role the Group’s current and future developments were playing in the seniors housing market in Western Australia.

“Being crowned the best of the best highlights that the fresh formula we’ve unveiled for elevated over-50s community living has well and truly hit the mark,” said Mr Wood.

“We set out to raise the bar in creating luxurious, vibrant and connected spaces where empty nesters, downsizers and early retirees can live well and thrive, as well as upsize their life, and this award is a wonderful endorsement of what we’ve really strived to achieve.”

Having recently received the green light to develop its sixth community in Two Rocks, Providence Lifestyle Group has also revealed it has plans for several other developments and just released an entirely new range of homes (the Harmony Range) to complement the unique vision and vistas of its variety of resorts.

“Having proven how popular our model is with the success of the first few projects, we just want to keep adding value for our resort homeowners, so they can enjoy lower energy costs, internet costs and ongoing lower living costs, compared to where they previously lived, so that they have extra cash to enjoy life,” said Mr Wood.

“For a number of years, we have been planning ahead for the strong and growing demand being experienced from downsizers and rightsizers.”

As well as Piara Waters and Two Rocks, Providence has future-focused gated resorts at various stages of development in Mandurah, Henley Brook, Haynes, Wattle Grove, and several more not-yet-announced locations.

“Those decisions from five years ago are now paying dividends in delivering wonderful places for our resort homeowners to live and helping to ease Perth’s housing supply issue.”

Each Providence Resort blends beautiful, architecturally designed modern and low maintenance homes with exceptional resort facilities, wellbeing and fitness spaces, a flourishing sense of social connectivity and community, and a focus on walkability, sustainability and technology.

Providence Resorts have no entry or exit fees, and home purchases are not subject to stamp duty. Homeowners on a pension are also eligible for Commonwealth Rent Assistance.
