There was no hunting around for a place to settle in retirement for Clive and Cathy Baxter.
The dynamic duo knew exactly where they wanted to be after hanging up their work boots two years ago.
“We didn’t look at any other villages or resorts because we’d watched this one over the last seven years,” shares Cathy.
“When we decided to take that step, we came and had a look, and we put a deposit on our house virtually then and there.”
Clive and Cathy opted for a stunning two-bedroom home design dubbed Seventh Heaven that also features a study.
“The house was chosen specifically for our truck, to make sure it fit in the carport,” explains Clive.
The vehicle tows the couple’s treasured caravan, so finding a safe space for it was a must.
“To be able to lock and leave is good as we know that when we’re not here, but our vehicle is, that it’s in a secure location,” says Clive.
“We also have an enormous backyard with a wonderful outlook thanks to all the trees and the birds.”
Since moving into their new home in 2024, Cathy and Clive have immersed themselves in the community and embraced the state-of-the-art facilities.
“Living in the Resort, as opposed to living in suburbia, gives me the opportunity to socialise as much or as little as I want,” states Cathy.
“I go to the gym and do chair exercises three times a week. I walk with a neighbour across the road five days a week and we do exercise classes on Saturday mornings.”
The pair gets involved in social bowling, too, and is learning to play pickleball.
“We use the Resort theatre to watch movies, as well,” says Cathy.
“It fulfils everything I need and our five-year-old grandson is looking forward to the outdoor pool being open!
“It’s a brilliant place. We’re thoroughly enjoying living here…it’s the best decision we ever made.”
