“It makes life simpler,” states taxi driver Mark Kay, discussing his 2024 move into Providence Piara Waters.
Mark was living alone in a large home in Gosnells when he decided the time was right to downsize.
“I knew my neighbours and we got on well, but a lot had moved away, and newer, younger families were moving in,” explains the 63-year-old.
“I had a pool I didn’t use and a shed and workshop, which I did use, but it was a lot to maintain.”
Having no luck buying a suitable villa or duplex, Mark happened on the Resort while driving in the area.
“The more I saw of it, the more it fitted what I was looking for,” he explains.
“I liked the idea of the golf simulator, library, gym and pool.
“I go to the gym three to four times a week and that would cost me $1,000 a year if I had to go elsewhere – and I’d have to get in the car and drive there.”
The change has also been successful socially.
“I was in the Clubhouse talking to another Homeowner and a gentleman was sitting reading the paper and he joined in our conversation, and we spent hours talking that day,” says Mark.
“We’re both from UK and are huge football fans and now we meet up every week.”
Mark’s new house – a one-bedroom ‘Tickled Pink’ home with all the trimmings, including a shed, solar panels, and covered alfresco space – has even freed up funds for travelling.
“I went to Thailand last year and played golf with some friends because financially this is much better,” he shares.
“Another big thing is that I’ve introduced the Resort to a friend of mine and he’s moving in later this year.”
