High-end acoustic treatments usually reserved for premium residences are a standout feature of the homes at Piara Waters lifestyle Resort.

The higher spec homes are delivering enhanced tranquillity, comfort and privacy, says Resort architect Richard Hammond of Richard Hammond Architects.

“Thanks to the frame construction being built with additional mass and increased insulation and glazed windows, these Resort homes are quieter than a standard suburb house,” he explains.

“When you walk into the houses, it’s very noticeable; you experience the calm and the quiet.

“The homes are also much warmer in winter and cooler in summer and, importantly, that saves significantly on energy costs.”

“It’s certainly increased the cost quite a bit because, not only is there more material in the windows and walls, but there is also more labour required to do so,” explains Richard.

“However, it means you’re not listening to your neighbour’s TV set or a frank exchange of views!

“It increases the cost to build the home by about 5% to do it properly, which is not a great deal more if you think about the long- term benefits, and the benefits have been so pronounced at Piara Lifestyle Resort; I think people are happier.”

Piara Waters Resort Director John Wood agrees. He says, “all the homes I have lived in leak weather and noise like a sieve and I didn’t realise just how much until I experienced the difference in our homes.”

“We’ve been more than surprised by the benefits. Although it means higher priced homes, feedback from our homeowners has given us the confidence to make these improvements standard across all Providence Resorts. It ties in nicely to our Brand Philosophy – which is to offer a higher quality living environment to empty nester’s, early retirees and downsizers,” says John.

“We believe it’s an important addition that plays a significant part in enhancing wellbeing for those who live in our Resorts.”
